JR Personnel are an employment agency acting on behalf of a client who is looking for an efficient Operations Manager to manage projects in a fast-moving environment.
Job Profile:
This is an Operations role which requires logical planning in an analytical data based environment.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities:- Setting Delivery Target Dates regularly reviewing schedules and setting realistic delivery deadlines on the company systems (SAP and tracking spreadsheets), communicating deadlines to the team, and ensuring they are met.
- Selecting the most appropriate method working with external customer and line managers to meet quality, cost, and deadline for delivery. Negotiating terms and rates where necessary.
- Ensuring that KPIs are set, and that there are sufficient staff members to support the production.
- Working with the Postproduction Coordinator to select the most appropriate suppliers for quality control, to make necessary changes to meet required quality, time, and cost criteria.
- Managing Cover Design Delivery to specification–working with the Artwork Coordinator to ensure that cover artwork permissions are cleared, and assets are delivered to correct specification from design agencies with necessary approvals (editor/licensor) meeting cost, quality and time criteria.
- Overseeing Data Entry on SAP ensuring that all necessary fields are completed and accurate on time for release dates including prices.
- Budget Management and Tracking - monitoring, reporting activity, and analysing spend as required by line manager.
- Management Reporting for month-end results and analysis to senior management as required.
- Develop quality control measures with line management that meet the business need and manage the quality control procedures.
- Review and approval of invoices against purchase orders and entering good receipts on systems.
Person Specification- Organised, efficient, and structured.
- Able to prioritize high workloads in a fast-moving operations environment.
- Project management skills – overseeing delivery of multiple projects at once to strict deadlines.
- An excellent communicator with good negotiating and people skills.
- Financially aware, confident managing and analysing numbers.
- Must be IT literate (including Microsoft Office particularly Excel and familiar with using Management Information Systems such as SAP).
- Highly literate for written communications over emails and proof-reading.
- An effective problem solver.
- Experience managing people is essential.
- Additional language skills such as French and German would be advantageous.
