SALARY: Up to £35,000 per annum dependent on experience

HOURS: Monday to Friday 9 – 5 with some flexibility

JR Personnel are an employment agency acting on behalf of a client who is looking for an IT Test Engineer to join their Loughborough team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading, innovative organisation at the top of their industry, the ideal candidate will already have had some experience; either in a software or development consultancy or a graduate with some technical working experience and a desire to progress and develop.

Role profile:

• Create, test and maintain shipping systems including server databases, application programming interfaces, microservices and applications
• Create and implement test strategies for the system
• Build and deployment of completed systems once tested
• User interface design and implementation
• Update defect tracking register
• Liaise with development engineers to assist in ongoing system development
• Visit clients on site
• Various other duties as and when required

Person profile:

• Technical skills including test frameworks: Junit, Selenium, SoapUI or Postman
• Familiarity with programming langueges C++ and Java
• Collaboration/defect tracking tools from Atlassian, Jira, Confluence
• Confident and self-motivated individual
• Willing to undertake further training if required
• Comfortable working on your own.

Essential criteria:

• Previous experience in a software consultancy/development house or a graduate with 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Ability to work flexibly and be adaptable.
• Be able to show technical ability but also experienced in documentation and governance.
• Team player
• Enthusiastic, logical and inquisitive personality
• Great communication skills both written and verbal
• Extremely confidential
• Must drive and have own transport and ad-hoc travel to oter sites.
