LOCATION: Fosse Park area of Leicester
SALARY: £35k - £45kdepending on experience
HOURS: Monday to Friday 40hrs but can be negotiable
JR Personnel are an employment agency acting on behalf of a client who is seeking a Health & Safety Manager with experience of working in the construction sector. The ideal candidate will have experience of writing safe systems and extensive list of processes and tasks undertaken by the operational team.
The Opportunity:
This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful family-run business; with their head office based in Leicestershire and refurbishments taking place across the UK. Our client pride themselves on their ability to deliver quick turnover refurbishment of retail units; working alongside the rest of the team you will be fully responsible for managing construction projects on site from start to finish so being able to work to deadlines and keeping within budget is essential.
Role profile:- Develop and update new Health & Safety software
- Assist the operational team with writing safe systems of work
- Conduct risk assessments and understand how risks could be reduced
- Outline safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazards
- Maintain working practices are safe and comply with legislation
- Preparation of H&S strategies and internal policy
- Keep up to date with new legislation including a working knowledge of HSE legislation
- Advise on a range of specialist areas - fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise and safeguarding machinery
Person profile:- Previous experience working within Health and Safety – minimum of two years
- Experience of working within construction
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
