SALARY: Up to £29,000 per annum dependent on experience
HOURS: Full time39 hours per week
Monday to Thursday 7.15am – 4.15pm Friday 7.15am – 12.15pm
JR Personnel are an employment agency acting on behalf of a client who is looking for an experienced Fabricator / Welder who can hit the ground running.
The Opportunity:
This position is a permanent opportunity for a Welder/Fabricator due to expansion based within an established manufacturing company in Loughborough.
Role profile: To assist in the fabrication of steel in line with customer orders – you will be carrying out all welding operations, adhering to the company’s H&S and quality expectations at all times.
Job Description:- Develop layout and plans and follow fabrication drawings to work orders
- Apply trigonometry, construct templates and jig fixtures
- Mark positions for fitting components onto main workpiece
- Set up and operate drills, grinders and flame cutting equipment
- Weld using electric arc-welding equipment to specified size/contour following the layout drawings
- Prepare and set up equipment, tools and maintain the equipment
- Obtain specified welding wire as per job specification
- During welding, maintain length of arc and speed of movement
- Always follow the Approved Welding Procedure
- Examine weld using a welding gauge
- Clean/degrease using wire brush or hand grinder
- Remove excesses using hand scraper or power chipper
- Examine finished products to check
- Operate other machine shop equipment to prepare components
- Amend weld to suit variations
Person profile:- Previous welding and fabrication experience required
- Used to interpreting technical drawings
- Ideally possess qualifications to meet coded welding standards
- Attend relevant training courses as required
